Admission conditions
Teenagers and young adults from 13 years on are preferably admitted
in our long-term rehabilitation under the following conditions:
- Body-Mass-Index (BMI) above 30 kg/m² or 50% above ideal body weight.
- The patient voluntarily decides to start on-site therapy
- Recommendation of the family doctor
- If possible the recommendation by a psychologist or a psychotherapeutical advisory board in the patient's home town for this therapy
- All German and European related health insurances agreed in the "maintenance and compensation contract with the working group of Bavarian health insurances" in July 1992
Indications
Major factors
Teenagers and adults with extremely high obesity (BMI > 30 kg/m²) or overweight more than 50% or above the 99,5 Perzentile.
Secondary factors
- Arterial hypertension
- Fatty-liver
- Diabetes mellitus
- Disturbed lipid metabolism
- Arthritis
- Sleep apnea
- Pickwick-Syndrome
- Eating disorders like Bulimia, Binge eating
- High uric acid
- Psychosomatic diseases
Registration is in general always possible, if there is an indication that long-term obesity therapy is thought useful by the assigning doctors and psychologists as well as by our first conversation with the patient, after payment of the expenses is guaranteed and the clinic has a vacancy. We will test the patient’s ability and willingness to come to therapy on time.
